Snickerdoodle

Ben is all about cinnamon and has discovered Snickerdoodles. I am all about Cinnamon Ice Cream, ever since John mentioned that he was planning his wife's birthday party, complete with chocolate cake and cinnamon ice cream. Yum. While at Costco earlier this week, I picked up a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker and just couldn't wait until the weekend to try it out. I needed to make cookies for a divisional staff meeting tomorrow and decided Snickerdoodles would be lovely with some homemade Snickerdoodle Ice Cream. The recipe called for 1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg and, while the ice cream was wonderful, I think I'd forgo the nutmeg next time. Nutmeg is anything but subtle and detracted a bit from the cinnamon. The cookies were excellent, although Ben thought there should be cinnamon in the dough, not just sprinkled on top. Peter made himself an ice cream sandwich, with a scoop of ice cream between two cookies, and was very satisfied. Really, the last thing I need to be doing is baking cookies and making ice cream ... but I'll think about that after May 1st.
