Snow

I woke up at 2 am and saw that it was snowing, so got up at 5:30 to check on school closures. The boys had a snow day and they were overjoyed. I knew there would be no chance that the college would close, as the snow was light and today was the first day of classes. It would have been nice, though, to curl up with a cup of tea and knit all day. I have several cold weather projects that I want to finish before the weather gets too warm to enjoy knitting wool.

I'm still trying to get the perfect picture of the oak in the snow. We just need more snow!

50

Craig celebrated the half century mark today. Well, there was no actual celebration as he spent the entire evening with both boys' robotics teams. We will do something over the weekend to mark the occasion.

Pink

Anthony told me at CASFAA that Alison is expecting a girl. So I had the perfect excuse to knit something pink over the holidays. I found this pattern several months ago on the LionBrandYarn site and have been wanting to try it. It is almost a no-sew pattern since the front, back, and sleeves are all joined on one circular needle at the yoke, and the yoke is knit in one piece. Sewing the sleeves and the side seams convinced me that I want to stick with top-down sweaters.
